Planes need to open up like a v so that everyone can go straight up to their seat a the same time...and likewise for getting off...
luggage and everything else could be loaded and checked faster as well since almost all of the interior spaces would be part exposed offering direct simultaneous access...
or perhaps:
unfurl the top of the plane - which turns into a big wavy ramp to get off -->
